Wolves of Finland
At the end of 2025, the Finnish Parliament amended the Hunting Act, which had been in effect since 1973—year-round protection for wolves was repealed.
Winter 2026 hunting season: Set quota: capped at 100 wolves, of which 82 were killed, out of an estimated wolf population of 430 animals (March 2025 estimate).
A quota of 109 wolves is planned for the winter of 2017 (December 1, 2026–February 10, 2027). This must be stopped!
